PROGRAMS

Alternatives Program
This is an intensive program that assists youth in developing positive thinking which produces positive behaviors and a potential for a successful future at home, in school and in the community. This court ordered program targets youth whose behavior has put them at risk for replacement at a residential treatment facility or at the Department of Corrections. The modalities of individual and group therapy are used to address personal issues such as anger management, healthy relationships, conflict resolution etc.

 Home Based Programs
This program involves a contracted home based worker meeting with children and their families in their homes and at school. This program is utilized as a preventative tool as well as a tool to aid with transitioning youth from residential treatment back into the community. This program is contracted through George Junior Republic of Indiana.

Two Rivers Academy
The school was implemented to assist students in middle school who were not successful in the traditional education setting due to behavioral problems, lack of performance, and peer relation issues. This program offers an academic and therapeutic milieu that meets daily to discuss issues that the students may be facing.

Thinking For A Change Program
Cognitive Behavioral change program consisting of 22 lessons to help with conflict resolution and behavioral change.

First Offenders Program
Preventative shoplifting program consisting of 4 sessions and involves a tour of the Cass County Jail.

Tobacco Education Group (TEG)
This is a tobacco preventative program that meets weekly for 6 weeks.

Adolescent Intramural Mentoring Program (AIM)
This is a mentoring program that pairs at-risk youth with community members and sporting events such as softball, fishing, bowling, volleyball, and brain-quest.

Dissolution Education or Parenting from Two Homes Program
This class is required for parents getting a divorce in Cass County. This program stresses the importance of keeping the children first during the difficult time of divorce. This is a one time-four hour class and is facilitated by Jim Thompson.

Father to Father Class
This program is designed to aid fathers with life skills who are seeking paternity. Fathers in this class learn about the importance of successful relationships with all who are spending time with the child, appropriate discipline, and being actively involved with their child’s life. This is a 10 week class and is facilitated by Jim Thomson.  

Parent Project
This program offers practical skills to assist parents with dealing with strong willed children who exhibit pre-delinquent or delinquent behaviors.  This is a 12 week class and is facilitated by Judi and Dick Hettinger.

Cass County Child Advocates - Cass County Child Advocates are members of the community who have been court appointed to speak on behalf of a child's best interest that has been abused or neglected and is involved in the court system. Community Partners, A Program of Children's Bureau, Inc.-  CPCS provides families and children’s services to persons who are at-risk for child abuse and neglect, or youth that have been involved with delinquent behavior. CPCS provides services with independent living, adoption, parenting, assessment, family preservation, shelter care and foster care recruitment and training.
