Road Closures, Delays, and Special Alerts
- ROAD CLOSURES:
- Starting Monday, February 6th, Chase road will be closed to all through traffic for four weeks. At this time, the contractor will be excavating the pipe culverts under the road just east of Area 5 Head Start to 2014 Chase Road for about two weeks. Once completed, that section will be re-opened and the area between the addresses of 2107 to 2300 Chase Road willbe closed for the next two weeks in order to perform the same work on the next creek crossing. The official detour route utilizes Davis Road, CR 100N, and SR 25. Drivers may also access the west end of Chase Road from downtown by using Michigan Avenue. Affected residents have been contacted and will maintain access to their homes.
- CR 400S is now open on both the east and west sides of SR 25, allowing traffic to and from Clymers to access SR 25. The pavement at the intersection is temporary, with stone surfaces and potential for sharp drop-offs. Drivers should proceed slowly through this intersection. The intersection will be closed again inthe spring approximatley 1 to 2 weeks for placement of permanent pavement. Extra signage and pavement markings will be added on the west side of this intersection in the near future.
- As part of ongoing HHH construction, CR 500W will now be permanently closed at SR 25 on the south side of the highway, as well as the north side.
- CR 500S (Cass/Carroll county line) is closed at SR 25 in both directions for Hoosier Heartland construction. Also in this area, CR 575W is closed at its intersection with CR 500S.
- County Road 325 West is now closed between CR 300S and CR 400S, as work continues on this road segment.
- CONGESTED TRAFFIC ALERT / WARNING:
- Traffic on SR 25 in the CLymers area is running on the newly built lanes. Construction continues in the area, and drivers should be alert for construction equipment and changes in traffic patterns. No passing zones will be extended for 500 feet at both ends of the crossovers in the Clymers area. These crossovers shift traffic from the existing SR 25 onto the new pavement. Extra stop signage and pavement markings will be added at the intersection of CR 300S and SR 25.
- Bridge construction for the Hoosier Heartland is getting underway on Kokomo Pike just south of US 24/35. Kokomo Pike (CR50E) will remain open to traffic during this bridge construction, with only temporary closures at various phases of the project. These closures will be communicated through local media.
